  • So as far as I'm seeing it right now, we are screwed. For some background, my boyfriend's parents own a successful
  • business and make a lot of money. So much so that they have literally told him that they have so much money. They don't know what to do with it.
  • My boyfriend also works for this company but it is not near what his parents make. (We both make about 50k each) His parents offered to buy a house
  • for him, sending him houses for sale that go as high up as 600k. I was asking my boyfriend how much a month it would be and he said his parents know what
  • he makes and would not screw us over. I made the mistake of believing that and obviously so did he.
  • So anyway we had a showing last week. Amazing house. Beautiful yard. A dream. He told his parents that we both loved it and his dad told us to put in an offer that was accepted. I

  • helped my boyfriend schedule inspections he signs paperwork and puts in the earnest money and everything is going great.
  • Until his mom calls him saying they want us to pay them 2000 for monthly payment on top of property taxes, utilities, ext(1300$) then they say they
  • don't even know if they like the house after they viewed it which me off because they said no to coming with us to the original showing and told us to put in an offer before seeing it.
  • So My boyfriend calls our realtor and discusses options and apparently because now at this point it's a binding contract,
  • even if we try to back out, my boyfriend could be sued by the seller. The best case scenario for that is he loses his earnest

  • money. And I can't even pick a worse case because the seller would have so many options of how to sue him and ruin his life.
  • So he has to talk to his parents tonight. He wants to get his parents excited for it. He said he could cover more of my payments.
  • I hate this. I'm ped at him for not asking about pay before this like I asked(multiple times).
  • Imped at his parents for even considering backing out now after their son signed all the legal stuff. I'm pred I even trusted his parents with this. I'm
  • p ed that even if this opens his eyes that his parents don't have his best interest at heart, he still relies on them for work.
  • I'm ped to have been so trusting of his parents. And I'm ped they completely f ed him over.
  • I want to also make it very clear that yes, the house we chose was nothing we could afford on our own, but his parents
  • insisted on the house being modern and having land. That is slim pickings and hard to find it in itself in this market. I also want to highlight that I have
  • talked to my boyfriend multiple times about wanting to not rely on his parents on buying a home and slowly save and buy something small first. He wanted this to be our family home.
  • Now all I can think is I'll never be able to afford kids in this house. This puts me in another rental. If it wasn't for the fact that he worked with his parents,
  • I would tell him to get his parents to sign the deed then move out. I wouldnt mind moving into a small apartment with him. I wouldnt mind slowly
  • saving for a condo, then a house, then eventually a dream home or wherever we decide to settle. I love him. I wanted out little life together. Now all I see
  • is us struggling. IDK what to do. My name is not on any of this. I could say I'm not moving in but that would be ending the relationship (I think? Seems likely)
  • I love him and want a at least somewhat comfortable life with him. If anyone knows what I could do next or what to expect legally that would be great
